The Power Pack is an innovative, community-based solar market program first implemented in Milwaukee, WI. The Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) works in target communities to provide education and resources that simplify the process for installing solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, helping customers to lower their electric bills, gain long-term energy security, support local economic development, and reduce their dependency on polluting fossil fuels.
How Does the Power Pack Work?
Attend a Free Power Hour
The MREA works with community partners to offer 1-hour seminars, Power Hours, for customers. This one-hour presentation describes how PV systems work, outlines the financial benefits and describes the solar installation process. The Power Hour also offers information on qualified solar installers, incentive information, how to get a site assessment, and available financing options.
Power Hour informational sessions are free and open to the public!
Connect with an Installer
The MREA maintains an approved list of trained solar installers that meet or exceed our minimum standards for experience, credentialing, and customer relations. Approved local contractors, their suppliers, manufacturers, and local lenders ensure that customers have access to regionally manufactured solar products. Customers can use our list of Questions to Ask Your Installer to assist them in selecting an installer.
A site assessment determines the viability of installing solar panels on your home and business. Depending on your location, you can fill out the form to request a possible free site assessment.
Secure PV Financing
MREA works to promote local, low-interest financing options for customers through community banks and credit unions.
